Introduction to MCU

Interactive voice integrated chips (RSC-100/164T, RSC-300/364), as applied in consumer electronics products, are 8-bit MCU of high performance but low-cost.

All these chips integrate ADC, DAC, ROM (except RSC-100/300), RAM and pre-amplifier circuit for microphone, and feature the following multiple functions: speaker independent and speaker dependent speech recognition, speech verification(password), speech and music composition, recording and playback, fast digital dial-up (RSC-300/364 only), and continuous monitoring.

There are two types of MCU (RSC series) for general purpose in the product lines.

1. RSC-100/164T: a type of low cost (for 4.0 version technology only);

2. RSC-300/364: a type that features faster response and additional advanced technologies, including digital dial-up, fixed word triggering, and digital records and recognition templates producing(latest 6.0 version technology supported);

RSC-164/364 Features:

a. 8-bit MCU with 64k built-in ROM;

b. integrated A / D and D / A converter;

c. DAC or PWM (Pulse Width Modulation);

d. DTMF dialing;

e. AGC of sound source;

f. 16 general I / O port;

g. output amplifier;

h. power-saving mode ( minimum power consumption: less than 5UA).

RSC-300/364 Features:

RSC-300/364, as systematic chips of high integration and recognition rate, are specially designed for consumer electronics products. RSC-300/364 has extra SDAM and hardware accelerators which support SENSORY’s latest technology (5.0 or above). This 8-bit MCU of special design supports flexible programming and a wide range of speech technologies: speaker-independent and speaker-dependent recognition, speech and music synthesis, speaker verification, voice prompts, continuous monitoring, fast digital dialing, recording and playback. RSC-300/364 can memorize up to 6 speaker-related phrases. RSC-364 is different from RSC-300 in that it has an extra 64K ROM. Due to their different packages and versions, RSC-300/364 are priced from 2.2 to 3.9 USD.

RSC-100/164 Features:
RSC-100/164 are specially designed by SENSORY for cost-sensitive consumer electronics and toys. RSC-100/164 are also 8-bit MCU supporting 4.0 speech technology: speaker-independent and speaker-dependent speech recognition, speech synthesis, speaker verification, continuous monitoring, recording and playback. This chip integrates microphone pre-amplifier, ADC, DAC, ROM, RAM, PWM (Pulse Width Adjustable) and speaker output, so it greatly reduces system cost. The difference between RSC-100 and RSC-164 is that the later has a 64K ROM.
